The Supremes A’ Go-Go Gets 2CD 50th Anniversary Reissue

There’s nothing sweeter than to get a 2CD Deluxe Edition of an old classic. That’s exactly my thought with the news that Motown will provide a 2CD 50th Anniversary Edition of one of their most historic and most enduring albums in The Supremes A’ Go-Go. Released in 1966 as the ninth issue title for The Supremes (before marketing began to capitalize on the rising success of singer, Diana Ross), this album offered the classic track, “You Can’t Hurry Love”, as well as the underperforming “Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart”.

On April 21, Motown will release a newly remastered and expanded edition of the first all-girlĀ album to reach number one, powered by “You Can’t Hurry Love”. For this 50th Anniversary Edition (the 50th Anniversary of this album was actually in 2016), the original MONO and the STEREO versions will be presented in the same package along with outtakes and rare mixes (see track-list below). In addition to this, there will be a 22-page booklet with new liner notes and never before seen photos.

Great news!

Motown To Release Marvin Gaye 1961-1965 Box On CD

Marvin Gaye 1961-1965 CD BoxEarlier this year, Motown Records released a vinyl LP Box that collected the formative and defining first seven studio albums of Marvin Gaye. The vinyl Box was called Marvin Gaye 1961-1965. It included new vinyl of The Soulful Moods of Marvin Gaye (1961), That Stubborn Kinda Fellow (1962), When I’m Alone I Cry (1964), Together – Marvin Gaye and Mary Wells (1964), Hello Broadway (1964), How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You (1965), and Tribute To Nat King Cole (1965). With its release, it was inevitable that we get a CD Box soon. And here it comes.

On September 11, Motown will release the same Box set but for CD. More information to follow.
