New Jack White Album, Boarding House Reach, Planned For March

Jack White is no stranger to the inner circle of Rock, an area of comfort that he has been a part of for some time. His beginning is with The White Stripes, a band he was in alongside his wife. As a successful duo, they released six studio albums, all well-received. After a time of stress, The White Stripes called it a musical day. After that, Jack White (who retained his wife’s surname after their 2013 divorce), turned to solo recording. releasing the Gold-selling Blunderbuss album in 2012. Since, he has released one other solo effort, Lazaretto (2014).

On March 23, Jack White will release his third solo work, Boarding House Reach via his own Third Man Records, distributed via Columbia Records. The new album will contain thirteen new songs. Boarding House Reach will be issued on CD, and in DD.

The latest new song is in release. You can listen to “Connected By Love” below in the YouTube video. A bit of exploration will net you audio releases (on YouTube) for two other tracks from the album (“Respect Commander“, and  “Corporation“). You can purchase “Connected By Love” as a 7″ vinyl single with “Respect Commander” as its B-side.

Third Man Records Reissue Classic Loretta Lynn Album, Van Lear Rose, On CD and LP

Loretta Lynn Van Lear RoseThe history that surrounds Loretta Lynn, a Country star since the early ’60s, when she released her first album, Loretta Lynn Sings (1963) on Decca Records. Since then, she has amassed many successful singles, four Grammy Awards (and a host of other prestigious awards), sixty albums with over 45 million in sales, and around 160 recorded songs. Having lived a difficult life in her youth, its refreshing to see this belle of Country music still doing what she has always done – make great music for her fans.

Jack White of The White Stripes had produced her 2004 Grammy-winning studio album, Van Lear Rose. The album was a massive success, generating unprecedented crossover appeal.

On December 18, Third Man Records will reissue Van Lear Rose with new CD and LP pressings. This is indeed great news for vinyl fans as the original pressings are rare, and, when peddled, command upwards of a hundred dollars regardless (too much) of condition.

If you’re wanting a fresh LP version (or a new CD edition), be sure to be at the gates on December 18.

New The Dead Weather Album, Dodge And Burn, Scheduled for September

The Dead Weather Dodge And BurnIn 2009, a band featuring Jack White, Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), Jack Lawrence, and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) released their first album, Horehound. By 2010, The Dead Weather released its followup, Sea Of Cowards. Both albums were quite good, and had received plenty of critical acclaim. And then, we didn’t hear from them again.

Recently, it was announced that Jack White’s label, Third Man Records, would be releasing the new The Dead Weather album on September 25 of 2015. For fans of the band’s first two albums, and for those lucky enough to have seen them in a concert setting), thi is indeed good news. The new album is being called Dodge And Burn, and will feature eight new songs, along with four remixed and remastered previously released tunes (“Buzzkill(er)”, “It’s Just Too Bad”, “Open Up (That’s Enough)”, “Rough Detective”).
