TAPSheet: Release Notes – 07/28/2015

It’s been a while since I posted a TAPSheet, so it’s time:

Eagle Rock Entertainment will release three cool new titles that include The Unity Sessions by Pat Metheny; a Taste (Rory Gallagher) live set, What’s Going On Taste Live At The Isle Of Wight 1970; and a Jeff Lynne’s ELO release, Live In Hyde Park. These titles are being released in various formats. The Taste set will be released on CD, LP, DD, BD, and DVD, scheduled for September 18. The Pat Metheny set will be released on Blu-ray, also on September 18. The Jeff Lynne’s ELO title is planned for September 11 on Blu-ray, and DVD.

On CD, Eagle Rock will issue Live At Montreux 2011, An Invitation to Illumination. This album features the classic pairing of Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin. This album is planned for September 11.

Green Hill Productions will release Native Dreams, a new album from David Arkenstone. It’s scheduled for September 11.

The Welk Music Group will release a new Jewel album, Picking Up the Pieces, on September 11.

4AD Records, the famed UK label, will release a 9LP Box featuring The National called A Lot Of Sorrow. This Limited Edition Box is pegged at 1500 sets only.

Dualtone Music will re-release History From Below (2010) by Delta Spirit on vinyl LP planning for September 18.

Capitol Records will release new music from Don Henley with Cass County, expected on September 25.

Spinefarm Records will release Long Live in both Explicit and Edited versions. The new live set from Atreyu is on the calendar for September 18.

Decca Records will release Another Country by Rod Stewart planned for October 23.

Columbia Records have Rattle That Lock by Pink Floyd alumni, David Gilmour, planned for September 18 in a number of varieties that include CD, 2CD, DD, LP, and expansive BD/CD and DVD/CD sets.

On September 11, the cool folks over at Eagle Rock will release Live at Montreux 1997 featuring resurrected Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Nusic Sounds plan an album featuring The 30th Anniversary Mixes of 19, by Paul Hardcastle.

Audio Fidelity will release a Multi-channel, and Stereo SACD of John McLaughlin and Mahavishnu Orchestra classic, Birds of Fire (1973). The reissue is planned for August 21.

On September 18, Omnivore Records will release The Atco/Atlantic Singles 1968-1974 featuring the music of Max Rebennack, better known as Dr John. The new set will offer twenty-two tracks that include “Right Place Wrong Time”, “Iko Iko”,and “Such A Night”.

TAPSheet: Release Notes – 07/07/2014 (US Report)

Dr John will release Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch via Concord Records with a planned date of August 19.

Concord Records will also release a multi-artist celebration of George Duke featuring one of Jazz’s great vocalists, Al Jarreau. The album is being called My Old Friend: Celebrating George Duke, and is planned for August 5.

Verve Records have Wallflower coming from Diana Krall on September 9.

Kobalt Records will release Strut by Lenny Kravitz on September 23 on CD, DD, and LP.

Asthmatic Kitty will release This Is My Hand by My Brightest Diamond. My Brightest Diamond is the strong work of Shara Worden, whose new album will be her fourth release. This Is My Hand is slated for release on September 16 on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. Pure indie!

Compass Records will release Sixty by John Cowan (current late-era member of The Doobie Brothers) on August 26.

Eagle Rock entertainment have a live performance from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) planned on video and CD of Thick As A Brick – Live In Iceland. This is on the calendar for August 19.

Welk Music Group plan the release of Solo Concerts by Bruce Hornsby, scheduled for August 25.

AAO Records will release The Letter by James Taylor, planned for August 19.

Rhino Records, in conjunction with Blackened Records will release new vinyl LP editions of Metallica albums. These include Ride The Lightning, Kill ‘Em All, Death Magnetic (2LP), …and Justice For All. These are planned for September 16. Other Metallica titles, Metallica (2LP), Master of Puppets, Load (2LP), Garage, Inc. (3LP), S&M (3LP), are slated earlier for August 26.

Cleopatra Records will release a 12-track, 2CD live reunion of talent featuring Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, and Jim McCarty that occurred in 2006 as Cactus – Live In the USA. This album is pegged for release on August 5.

Mute Records will re-release Can titles on vinyl LP that includes Tago Mago, Soundtracks, Monster Movie, and Ege Bamyasi. All LPs are scheduled for September 2.

Astralwerks Records have Listen, from The Kooks, slated for CD, Deluxe Edition CD,  LP, and DD on September 2.

Analogue Productions will release a 6SACD Box featuring the works of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble (Texas Flood – 1983, Couldn’t Stand The Weather – 1984, Soul to Soul – 1985, In Step – 1989, Family Style – 1990, The Sky Is Cryin’ – 1991). The Box is being referred to as Texas Hurricane and is slated for release on August 12. VERY hefty price tag, though.

The End Records will release Still Life Moving Fast by Empress AD in CD, LP, and DD formats, all planned for September 2.

Frontiers Records have a few on the calendar for August 26 that include Adrenaline Rush by Adrenaline Rush, High Voltage from Asia, More Is More by M.I.M., Get Your Rock On by XDrive, and All The Way from State Of Salazar.

Frontiers Records have slated Heaven And Earth, the new album from YES, for July 8.

AAO Music will release a Dr. John title with Blues Biography, planned for July 8.

AAO Music has also scheduled Ray Charles Juke Box featuring Ray Charles, planning the set for July 15.

Monkey Puzzle Records plan the new Sia album, 1000 Forms Of Fear, for release on July 8.

Thump Records have The Best Of Mary Wells joining their Old School Gold Series. It’s scheduled for July 1.

Nettwerk Records have announced the release of a new John Hiatt album, Terms Of Surrender, which is planned for July 15.

Phoenix Phonograph will release a new Peter Frampton album, Hummingbird In A Box, with a planned date of June 23.

JEMP Records will release a new Phish title, Fuego, the band’s first in around five years. Fuego is planned for CD, DD, and vinyl LP, all on June 24.

Avenue Records have a reissue of All Day Music (1971) by WAR planned for CD release on August 12.

Atlantic Records have slated new Jason Mraz music for July 15, with the scheduled release of Yes!.

UDR Records will release multiple versions of Last Tangle In Paris – Live 2012 DeFiBrilLaTouR  featuring Ministry. The sets will include a 2LP set, a 2CD/BD, 2CD/DVD, and 2CD. All of these are slated for July 8.

Snapper UK will reissue a classic Small Faces album, There Are But Four Small Faces (1967), on June 24.

Real Gone Music will continue to reissue catalog X titles with the arrival of More Fun In The New World (1983), planned for July 1.

Bushbranch Records will release an Eric Clapton & Friends album, The Breeze (An Appreciation of JJ Cale), on both CD and LP, and slated for July 29.

Maybe you’ll remember Robert Gordon, or maybe you won’t. Doesn’t matter, for those that do remember the Rockabilly artist from the ’70s, may be pleased to know that Lanark Records will release a new album from the singer with twelve new tracks, scheduling I’m Coming Home for June 24.

The newest Judas Priest album, their 17th, is called Redeemer Of Souls, and is scheduled for release on July 15.
