On October 27, Chrysalis Records will revisit the catalog of The Specials for re-release on vinyl LPs. The albums selected for this are: The Singles, Specials, More Specials, Live At The Moonlight Club (which will also be re-released as a CD set, same date), and In The Studio. All LPs will be reissued on black vinyl and pressed on 180g-weight vinyl.

BMG will release the new album by Hollywood Undead called V(Five). V is expected on CD and vinyl LP scheduled for October 27. The band will begin a 48-date US/Canada tour in support of this upcoming 14-track album.

As a nice random note, if you’re a fan of Australia’s import, The Paper Kites, the band has announced on Twitter that they are officially beginning work on their third full-length album. They’re first two, States, and Twelvefour, have been successes. And the fans anxiously await…

Omnivore Recordings have a brand new, 5-track EP coming from classic band, NRBQ. The EP is being called Happy Talk, and will feature three original songs, and two covers (Roy Orbison’s “Only The Lonely”, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Happy Talk”) Happy Talk arrives on October 20 on CD.

Merge Records will release a newly remastered 10th Anniversary 2LP Edition of Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga by Spoon. In essence, the original LP will feature on one disc while the second vinyl disc will feature their 12-track bonus EP, Get Nice!. This classic Spoon album was originally released in 2007.

Michael McDonald‘s new studio set, Wide Open, will be released on September 15 on CD, while the vinyl 2LP edition is scheduled for October 13.

Rhino Records plan a 2LP 25th Anniversary reissue of Gordon, the 1992 debut from Barenaked Ladies.

Rhino also plans 2LP 180g-weight vinyl LP Deluxe Editions of two Hagar-era Montrose titles, Montrose, and Paper Money. Both are scheduled for October 13.

Atlantic Records will release an Expanded and Remastered Edition of Chaos A.D., the 1996 two million-selling classic by Sepultura. In addition to the remastered original album, this new reissue will add in seventeen bonus tracks including a studio cover version of Black Sabbath‘s “Symptom Of The Universe”. Other bonus inclusions are seven Live cuts, five outtakes, and two previously unreleased instrumental rehearsal tracks of “Clenched Fists”. The album is scheduled for October 13 on CD and 2LP.

Omnian Music Group will release the new album by Cults. Four years after their previous album (Static – 2013), Offering, an eleven-track set of originals, is expected to advance the band in greater style. Offering will be issued on CD, DD, and vinyl LP on October 6.

For W.A.S.P. fans, their classic The Crimson Idol was intended to accompany a movie. Now, that movie will be issued as a collection called W.A.S.P. Reidolized: The Soundtrack to The Crimson Idol. This remastered set that includes the original album along with six previously unreleased tunes. To further the set, the original film, The Crimson Idol is being presented on DVD and Blu-ray. This set will also be provided on 2LP sets long with the six unreleased tracks, scheduling for October 6.

With the holidays just a “mere” five months away, be sure to include a new Christmas set by Alabama in your celebratory moods. The new album is called American Christmas and will be filled with 15 familiar classics like “Silent Night”, “Auld Lang Syne”, “Jingle Bells”, “Away In A Manger”, “Winter Wonderland”, and more. It’s scheduled for October 6 on CD and DD.

And finally…

Warner Brothers Records will release a vinyl picture disc of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips. It is scheduled to be available on September 29.
