When you note the name Otis Redding, you often stop and take some notice as to what is being mentioned along with his name. This time, it’s a remastered and expanded edition of his 1966 classic, Complete & Unbelievable: The Otis Redding Dictionary Of Soul. This album was the last studio set that Otis Redding released prior to his death the same year of release. It contained a selection of covers and Redding originals. The album spawned two hits, “Fa Fa Fa Fa Fa (Sad Song)”, and “Try A Little Tenderness”. After all is said and done, this album is highly revered, ranked in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.
On October 7, Atlantic Records will reissue Complete & Unbelievable: The Otis Redding Dictionary of Soul with new remastering. The songs provided will be the Mono and Stereo versions of the album along with a selection of live performance tracks and a few outtakes from the sessions, and a non-album B-side, “Don’t Mess With Cupid”.
The album will be reissue on a Deluxe 2CD Edition as well as a 180g-weight 2LP vinyl set. The 2LP box will add in a collectible bonus 7″ vinyl single (“Respect”, “Satisfaction”).
