You may have an opinion of Tusk, the 1979 2LP set by Fleetwood Mac. Clearly, it was a step away from the usual fare provided by this particular lineup. But for me, it contained one of my favorite FM songs of this lineup. “Sara” performed well on the charts in all radio markets. On the LP, it clocked in a over six minutes. It endured an edit for radio that trimmed it to twenty seconds shy of five minutes. The title song was a favorite of others although it was considered highly experimental.
On December 4, Rhino and Warner Music will deliver to fans of the band a remastered and incredibly expanded Tusk. It will contain a treasure box filled with what is an alternate version of the album complete with session outtakes, demos, remixes, single edits, and more. So, there’s plenty to be excited about for everyone.
There will be a standard single CD issue, a 3CD Deluxe Edition, possibly a 2LP Edition (not currently listed), and a Super Deluxe Edition that will offer 5CDs, 2LPs, and a DVD-Audio disc containing a 5.1 Surround Sound mix of the album.
The booklets for these sets, (Box for the Super Deluxe, digipaks for the other two) will contain new photos, liner notes, and interviews with the band for this edition.

This DELUXE EDITION delves deep into the vaults with five CDs including the remastered original album, an alternate version of the complete album made up of session outtakes, most of which have never been released, as well as an additional selection of singles, demos and remixes, including an outtake of “Think About Me,” an early version of “That’s Enough For Me” called “Out On The Road,” plus several incarnations of “I Know I’m Not Wrong.”
Also included are two discs loaded with 22 unreleased performances from the band’s 1979 Tusk tour with selections from concerts in London, Tucson, and St. Louis. It includes live versions of album tracks like “Sara, “Over And Over” and “Save Me A Place,” as well as favorites like “Landslide,” “You Make Loving Fun,” “Rhiannon,” “Don’t Stop” and “Go Your Own Way.”
Completing the Deluxe Edition is a 5.1 surround mix of Tusk on DVD-Audio and vinyl of the original album on 2-LPs.
The collection comes housed in an elegant box reminiscent of the acclaimed Rumours Deluxe Edition with a booklet that has extended liner notes that feature new interviews with all the band members.
