One could say that The Moody Blues enjoyed two phases of their career. Certainly, there is no doubt as to the popularity of their Threshold and Decca/Deram years, where album classics like Days Of Future Passed, To Our Children’s Children’s Children, In Search Of The Lost Chord, Seventh Sojourn, and others that generated hits like “Night In White Satin”, “Go Now”, “The Story In Your Eyes”, and “I’m Just a Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)”, again, naming just a few. This led to their well-received solo efforts, and a hiatus that eventually ended, leading into the second phase of their career.

In 1977, the band returned to give a good idea another shot. This led to their eventual signing to Polydor Records. That signing produced their successful The Other Side Of Life, whit generated the hits, “Your Wildest Dreams, and the title track. With a decidedly ’80s sound, the band embarked on a run of albums and tours that keep them busy to this day.

On November 24, Polydor Records will release an assembled collection of Moody blues goodness including their three Polydor studio issues (The Other Side Of Life – 1986, Sur la Mer – 1988, Keys Of The Kingdom – 1991), and the best-selling live set, A Night At Red Rocks (1993). But there are more being planned for this Polydor years set that will include 6CDs, and 2DVDs. In addition to the remastered studio, and live sets, a generous helping of eleven previously unreleased bonus tracks (see track-list below), will expand the Box with a total of 17 songs.

The two DVDs will feature the remastered video of Night At Red Rocks, as well as a rare documentary, The Other Side Of Red Rocks. To make the set perfect, the box will contain a blue 7” vinyl single, which will contain “Al Fin Voy A Encontrate” (Spanish version of “I Know You’re Out There Somewhere”.)

The 6CD/2DVD Box, to be released as The Moody Blues: The Polydor Years 1986-1992, will throw in a 64-page hardbound book with photos, credits, notes, memorabilia, and more.
