  1. More Grateful Dead on Sept. 2nd, Dick’s Picks Vol. 16 – Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA 11/8/69 (3 CD). My Renaissance “Scheherazade amp; Other Stories” SACD arrived today. Very nice, sounds excellent.

  2. It should be noted that the Dead’s “Wake Up To Find Out” is not only a complete show, and an exceptional show at that (easily one of the best from the band’s final years, or any year for that matter), but the show also features special guest Branford Marsalis, who sat in for most of the show.

Marsalis and the Dead totally jelled as an ensemble, and this is a very special show. I think Rolling Stone has a new interview with Marsalis about this set, and how much he enjoyed playing with those guys.
